Arabx.cam is a website that’s not worth visiting, it’s not just an annoyance, it is a major security issue. It does not serve any content nor provides any functionality. It is only a website where people can buy things and make money.
There is a time and place for a pop-up ad, but there’s no time or place for an ad that displays a pop-up.
A pop-up is typically an intrusive, annoying advertisement, requiring users to click on the ad before they can proceed. It’s also something you would see if your user had taken too much of your personal information without their permission.

The difference here is that there are no ads displayed behind me. They were not placed there by me — I don’t even know how they got there. The ad was just popped up because of some hidden mechanism in my device. That’s what happens on arabx.cam; I did not do it and it wasn’t done with my permission.
It was done by some strange algorithm that automatically pops up ADs (Ad Networks) on behalf of me as a way of monetizing my use of the site and furthering its business model (which I believe is against our Terms of Service). This kind of automated “initiative” has been happening since our very first day we launched and continues to happen to this day — because we don’t really have any other way to monetize our site besides advertising (which is what we had initially started with).
Arabx.cams is a guy’s site, it’s all about Arabs, and he makes cool stuff, like his cam show. He doesn’t need to be taken seriously, but he tries.
I describe how difficult it can be to navigate a site mostly about Arabs with pop-ups and spam ads everywhere. This is also something I think many startups would benefit from getting used to early on in their lifecycle as they tend to be quite opinionated and thus may not always want you around if they think you are too conservative in your approach. It has also been in the business for a very long time and thus probably does not have much of an audience to speak of. 2 Stars at best
